The fat is melted and removed in a liquid state. Traditional liposuction removes fat in its solid state. Think of fat like Jell-O. When Jell-O is heated, it turns to a liquid and is easily sucked through a straw. When Jell-O is in a solid state, if you tried to suck it through a straw it would leave divots and inconsistencies. This is the perfect analogy for removing fat that is in a liquid form from the laser action. Since liquified fat is removed easily as compared to solid fat, this means a smoother result for the patient and less bruising and bleeding.
